I had a friend fly from Des Moines to Orlando, FL for $120 including taxes and baggage fees. The original ticket was only $45. So that may be an option for you.

Jamaica is a great choice. I truly enjoyed my trip there. We had a wonderful time and while I was there I felt uncharacteristically adventurous. I even climbed Dunns River Falls.
