I recently had the opportunity to spend an entire day with my best friend. We attended a local psychic & health fair. I was a little reluctant at first to ask her to accompany me--thought she would be a little put off because of what I call "the woo-woo factor" but she surprised me and graciously accepted.
The event, hosted at a local hotel was well underway when we got there. Vendor tables were lined up around the room and even though she was smiling, I was extremely nervous when I noticed that the very first table near the door was for a psychic reader. I watched her scan the room for something, anything that looked familiar and well, normal. Then I remembered...she' a Gemini just like me so I knew that at any moment, that natural curiosity and openness would kick in and she'd find her rhythm.
We ventured around the room, taking in all the sights and sounds of the metaphysical community in Baltimore. There were spa owners, bodywork practitioners, bodycare vendors, intuitives, gemstone merchants and the like. We ended up at the table of a woman who asked if we wanted a card reading. We looked at each other--waiting to see what the other would do/say. Again, to my surprise she said "sure, I'd like a reading." We both got a powerful reading from a very loving and intuitive woman. The respective readings were so accurate, we each gasped. We continued to mingle--the remainder of our time there was fun but pretty much uneventful. After a couple of hours, and countless flyers, business cards, product samples, etc. We headed home.
On the way home, she said, "Linsey, I really enjoyed myself--thank you for inviting me" and of course, I smiled triumphantly! The calmness that radiated from her was breathtaking! Later that evening, she asked to listen to an audio recording of a medical intuitive...I couldn't believe it. I was thrilled that she was open enough to peek into a world that was unfamiliar to her. I think it gave her a better understanding of the woman I had become. After 22 years of friendship and all of the stuff we've been through together, that little local outing brought us even closer together. Our bond is stronger than ever and I am blessed to have such a wonderful, engaging girlfriend. The little things really can make a difference. Thanks, Yvette...you ROCK!
