The past several months have been rough for many of us. Between the erratic price of gas, the climbing price of utilities, food, etc. it's become increasingly difficult to maintain your lifestyle and make ends meet. So, now, more than ever, it is critical that we all become smart shoppers.

Women, in particular, are extremely resourceful. We bargain shop, substitute some brand name items in our pantry for cheaper-but-just-as-good items, go resale shopping, and patiently waiting for that pair of shoes to go on sale.

With the holidays on the horizon, here is another savvy shopper strategy to employ: outlet shopping. Here are three reasons that outlet shopping makes sense, even in a down economy.

1. Outlet malls like the Grove City and Philadelphia Premium Outlet Malls offer an opportunity to purchase the brand name items that we love, but at an incredible discount. Many of the stores are offering 30 - 50% off of shoes, clothings, kids items, housewares, tools, you name it.
2. You get the savings without schlepping all over town in search of bargains or paying high shipping costs if you order online.
3. If you shop at one of the outlet malls in Pennsylvania you'll get an additional bonus - the State of Pennsylvania doesn't sales tax for clothing purchases. NONE. Cha-ching!
